21 Cellars is a boutique Washington family run winery located in Tacoma, WA founded in 2003 by Winemaker Philip Coates. After graduating from Enology school he and his daughters, Chloe and Tatum have dedicated their efforts to producing unique and quality wines using minimal intervention.
Fermenting in small lots with native yeasts, aging in French oak, and bottling unfiltered and unfined allows for highly structured and distinctive wines. Limited production (under 1,000 cases per year) allows more hands-on attention to each varietal; hand de-stemming and using unique methods such as whole berry barrel-fermentation for reds. Every bottle sold has been filled, corked, and waxed by hand, with labels designed by local artists. We are proud to present wines exhibiting creativity and longevity; showcasing the deep, earthy qualities of Washington's premier Red Mountain and Walla Walla vineyards.
