About Us
8 Chains North Winery is part of Furnace Mountain Vineyards, LLC, owned and operated by Ben and Connie Renshaw. Founded in 2006, Ben and his father planted the first vineyard, Furnace Mountain, on Ben’s sister’s farm north of Leesburg, Va. on the Potomac River. The first bottling under the 8 Chains North brand occurred in 2007, and in 2010, the Renshaws created a permanent home for the winery in a renovated barn in Waterford, Va.

The Winery is where the magic happens from planting to harvest to what you'll sip during your visit. 8 Chains North strives to embody the true spirit of a Virginia farm winery and to extend that feeling to our guests. Our owner, Ben Renshaw, is also our winegrower he handles all cultivation of the vineyards and handcrafts our old-world-style wines.
