The History

Our family history and an "old world" feel are evident in every direction at Becker Vineyards. As you make your way down Becker Farms Road, alongside our estate Syrah you arrive at the Lavender Haus and Tasting Room and Winery. Adjacent to the winery is a log homestead cabin circa 1890 and is the original homestead. Its renovation was completed in 1997 and for years served as a charming Bed and Breakfast.  It is no longer in operation as a B&B but reserved for special guests of the winery and used in conjunction with wedding parties and special celebrations. The welcoming Hearth just inside the tasting room door crackles and pops with warmth on chilly days. In the Texas summer months The Verandah runs the full length of the winery and host an outdoor bar and beautiful view of the lavender fields. Have a glass and take a moment to rest in full view of the antique windmill, homestead tank and artichoke test plot. The late Former First Lady- Lady Bird Johnson- famous for her National Wildflower projects, loved our fields of native wildflowers growing on the property (and loved our Chardonnay!). Peach orchards and grass hay production sourround the estate as well.

Spent a beautiful Saturday at Becker Vineyards Annual Lavender Festival. The smell of Lavender wafting from every corner set the mood for a relaxing adventure. I purchased may goods for gift as well as for myself. The wine was great and you MUST get yourself some Lavender Lemonade. The only thing missing were food vendors. As a first timer I was unaware that you could pack your own picnic for the day which a bunch of people did. With all that drinking I thought it was a misstep not to offer more than the Maine Lobster food truck (which had a 45 minute wait). Other than that I recommend. Very family & dog friendly. $5 entrance fee to park.

The place charges $20.00 dollars for six samples of wine tasting. One of the first places to have a winery out there. But it's okay especially charging double the price compared to other places. Don't forget your free wine glass with purchase.

Was looking for my favorite Becker wine culinaria sadly not in season. But always nice atmosphere and the lavender was in bloom too. Live music on a Sunday afternoon, very relaxing.

They certainly cater to their upper class clientele. I certainly believe the wines are amongst the best in the region, but I feel like because I didn't pull up in a Porsche and wear Rolex, I was treated a little different then those in the building that did. None-the-less, it might have been a little uppity for my taste, but they do produce good wines, and the grounds are beautiful.

Lovely and relaxing atmosphere, patio and grounds. Delicious wine with a wide variety ~ everyone will find something they love. Live music often here, pack a picnic basket, spend the day!
