Our Story:
Great wine takes you places. It takes you back to the region where it was born. It takes you to the time and place where you first encountered the bottle. Or perhaps, when the wine truly inspires, it brings you back to the place where you realized wine must be a part of your life.
For us, Cartograph is itself a destination, a roadmap and a journey. That journey is represented in the imagery that adorns the Cartograph label. Look closely and you'll see where we've been, where our paths have crossed and the circumstances of several careers and meetings that defined who we are, how we think, how a passion for great wine was instilled within us and, finally, how Cartograph was created. This image is visual shorthand that helps people understand where we come from and where our paths may have crossed. It's a single image that encapsulates our shared history in wine. Each point of the Cartograph has a story, as does the line between each point.
We'd ask you to note that our current stop on our ongoing journey is in Healdsburg, California-a very logical place for two people who have been driven to try to produce pure depictions of the Pinot Noir grape. It is from this location where we finally stopped and set about to contribute to the ongoing effort to define great California Pinot Noir.
