Open: Year Round
Chateau Tebeau Vineyard and Winery, a dream of Bob & Mary Tebeau, has been a long time coming...Â
Back in the early 1980's Bob was a home wine maker and to put some humor in the process, Bob & Mary developed a label with the name Chateau Tebeau. Â It sounded good and we all got a laugh out of it. Little did we know at the time that circumstances and lifestyle changes would lead us to create the real Chateau Tebeau Vineyard and Winery. Â
The original label will be proudly displayed in the Winery. Â Bob & Mary have studied wine and the lifestyle that goes with it by visiting many wineries and picking up a tip here and an idea there from other wine makers who share a mutual love of the industry. Â They further enhanced their knowledge by attending numerous classes on viticulture and enology.
So the adventure began with the first planting of the vineyards in 2008. Â In 2009 they started the construction of the tasting room and opened to the public on January 9th, 2010. Â It was a quiet, cold day and they were pleased to serve the first glasses of wine to their neighbors and friends, Bob and Kathy. Â A picture of this momentous day can be seen from the tasting room bar. Â
With the arrival of spring and summer, customers soon where able to stroll through the vineyards, smell the roses, sit by the koi pond or simply relax by the fireplace in the tasting room.Â
By 2012, it was apparent that the winery was in need of a major expansion and so the production equipment was moved into a new 60 x 60 building connected directly behind the existing winery. This then allowed for the old production room to be converted into an expanded indoor seating area complete with a bar that is accessible from both inside and out.
