Open: Year-round
Scott and Krisell Steingraber began making wine about 15 years ago. Scott's work as a civil engineer took him to the San Francisco Bay area right next door to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. He started by spending his weekends touring wineries and visiting vineyards. This quickly turned into a garage filled with destemmers, basket presses and wooden barrels.
Over the years Scott has attended many extension courses at UC Davis to hone his skills for wine-making, while trial and error and experience filled in the gaps in those early years. Eventually, Scott's civil engineering work took our family to Washington, where we experimented with the local grape varietals and techniques. We had a lot of fun with those first wines. We kept at it, and the wine quality we were looking for has shown through over the years.
By 2003, we knew that we wanted to turn our intensive hobby into a new career and  began to passionately work toward that goal. Today, we are immersed in this new phase of our life journey. It is an exciting time for us and our family.
We are currently working with a skilled team of architects, builders, and designers to construct a new tasting room. It will open sometime in the second half of 2012. Future expansion plans include a state-of-the art winery building adjacent to the tasting room.
Our entire team is excited about the wines we are making and hope you will enjoy them as much as we do. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our story with new friends and customers.
