About Us

In January of 2004, La Diosa Cellars emerged from ambition into reality as the first winery to operate within the city limits of Lubbock, Texas. Located in the heart of the downtown depot district, this Spanish-style bistro captures the heart of any lover of wine, food, and art.

Owner Sylvia McPherson's dream of La Diosa began in her early years as her father raised her to love and understand the flavors of true Spanish cuisine. Though the wheels were already turning, it was a personal vow to her father that propelled Sylvia's dream into being.

After retiring from interior design, it was time to embark on a new venture a Bohemian style bistro in the panhandle of Texas.

Inspired by her father-in-law Dr. Clinton McPherson, who is fittingly known as the "Founding Father of the Texas Wine Industry" and her equally wine-impassioned husband, Sylvia's love for unique food and the arts adhered to their love of wine, and on January 13, 2004 La Diosa Cellars was realized.

Like a fine wine, time has evolved La Diosa into what it is today an oasis of uniquely simple, yet sophisticated dining with an edge of elegance and warmth. La Diosa's unpretentious architecture and colonial implements in contrast to its artisan crafts and a modern-chic flair create a delightfully mellow and powerfully exciting ambiance. Whether enjoying an espresso or a glass of sherry to accompany your favorite book, Sylvia, her family, and her personable staff bolster the dream as they devotedly serve you, and quickly turn La Diosa Cellars into your new favorite niche.
