About Us:
Our three vineyards offer perfect growing conditions for the wide range of grape varieties we grow here.
From Zinfandel to Riesling to Merlot to our New World Port, the Madroña, Enyé and Sumu-Kaw vineyards produce grapes with mild acidity and perfect ripeness to create a balanced foundation for the estate wines that we produce and bottle at Madroña.
We spend a great deal of time in the vineyard, assessing each individual block’s growth and conditions and hand tending the grapes to ensure the highest quality. We strive to provide optimal growing conditions for each variety planted, managing irrigation, trellising, pruning and leaf thinning practices. This extra care makes for better fruit, which results in exceptional wines.
A visit to Madroña reveals our continued commitment to sustainable farming and respect of the land. We are 100% solar powered and maintain a permanent native cover crop between vineyard rows. This care and commitment to vineyard management is the cornerstone of our grapegrowing philosophy and results in grapes that are of the highest quality, the perfect fruit from which to make our wines.
