About Us:

In 2006 we were visiting Presque Isle, Pennsylvania to pick up grapes for my Uncle David Novosel, who every year made a dry red wine. At that time, my wife and I did not appreciate, enjoy, or even like wine. While we were there, we enjoyed the scenery of the vineyards and the atmosphere of the area. We even acquired a taste for some of the sweeter Niagara and Concord wines (thinking that someday we might even let it replace drinking beer). So, after returning, I decided that experimenting with making our own wines would be enjoyable.

After running the idea by my wife, she agreed. That weekend I embarked on the adventure of concocting my own wine combinations. I began scavenging old wine presses and crushers from my parents' house. My mother's Italian background had formed the foundation for wine making as she had learned from her grandfather. I made (through no small effort and many embarrassing failures) an initial batch of 30 gallons! When my wife returned home from a weekend away and found our finished basement full of fruit flies and the strong smell of fermentation, I am pretty sure she started to second guess the endeavor. I also had to endure the harassment from visiting friends when they walked through a haze of fruit flies. But after all the initial start-up, the finished product was extremely enjoyable and has since fueled our remaining products and endeavors.
