We always had a desire to live in the country. So in 2001, we jumped at an opportunity to purchase an old farm house built in 1926 complete with 18 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Lodi Appellation. In 2004, we added another varietal, Pinot Grigio. That was the beginning of MY Green Vineyards, LLC.
For many years we made wine for home use with family and friends. From the time we first purchased the property we always thought it would make a great winery and tasting room location. So in 2009, we applied for our winery license and began production with our first vintage. We did this via an alternating proprietor ship with Estate Crush in Lodi. We continue to use this team for our wine producing processes.
We agonized over what we should name the winery and what message we're we trying to brand. We came up with the name One Way Winery with the thought of using Traffic Signals on the labels. The back of the bottle would always convey a message about responsible drinking and driving.
We proceeded with our plans to build a winery and tasting room on site at our Acampo property and have been went through the application process and have been approved by the county to move forward. While all this sounds good it requires a huge time and financial commitment, so we put the brakes on and decided to focus on opening a small tasting room downtown Lodi to build a brand following.
So we're open. You can find us at 25 N. School Street, Lodi, California. Our small tasting room is located inside "Visit Lodi!". We are also carrying some gift items and locally produced products.
