Out of the Woods Winery is a new take on an old dream. Long-time visitors to Hayward are familiar with HookStone Winery, founded over twelve years ago by Richard Halajcsik, who operated the winery under the motto, "Bringing Nappa to the North Woods." HookStone had a long and successful run until Mr. Halajcsik's passing in January, 2017. Purchased in the fall of 2017, HookStone Winery is open once again under new management and a new name: Out of the Woods Winery. Stop in and check out our take on life's simple pleasures: Good Company, Craft Drinks, and Hot Eats.
Out of the Woods Winery is a MacLaughlin Family collaboration. We are in the process of applying for food and alcohol manufacturing licenses. We hope to have a food menu available by February 2018, and new line of wine, cider and mead available by fall 2018. In the mean time, we are open and serving wine for tastings, by the glass and by the bottle. We have HookStone wines in stock, as well a selection of wine, cider and mead from Wisconsin, California, Argentina, France, Germany and Italy. And if you're a foodie, we also have a selection of gourmet chocolates, olive oil and balsamic vinegar to sample and purchase.
