ABOUT
Texas Vineyard & Smokehaus, owned and operated by Rafael Hernandez, is located in Palestine, Texas. Rafael had a dream that one day he would open a winery and tasting room to serve his customers Texas wines made by Texans. He purchased ten acres of land in Anderson County, Texas, and began working to fulfill his dream. Rafael would commute to Palestine every two weeks to clear the land and erect a building that later would become a winery and tasting room. I found my calling in Anderson County. The rich agricultural land, lower taxes and friendly people drove Rafael to purchase the land. Palestine, a charming little town 85 miles south of Dallas, has become home to Rafael Hernandez and Texas Vineyard & Smokehaus.
